CHARITIES and good causes throughout Kidderminster are being given the chance to apply for a share of the money raised at this year's carnival.
The event, planned for Saturday June 24, is expected to raise around £5,000.
Chairman, Colin Hill, said: "The organising committee is keen to hear from any charities or good causes which are in need of funds. We will consider all applications on their merits - and we do ask that recipients lend a hand on the day with programme selling and other fund-raising events that we run."
The current committee has given out £49,000 to a host of charities since it took over the running of the carnival from the Round Table in 1992.
Past beneficiaries have included Kemp Hospice, Citizen's Advice Bureau, Age Concern, Headway and Dial-A-Ride.
Last year's carnival raised £3,000 for the Operation Covert Appeal to rebuild the Scout centre at Rhydd Covert plus £500 each to the Wyre Forest Talking Newspaper and Kidderminster Red Cross.
The carnival raises money through stall receipts and the street collection on the day plus a can shake, duck race and sponsorship.
Applications for proceeds from this year's carnival should be made to Mr Hill, who can be contacted on 01562 751634.
