A FUN event to kick-start men into male grooming habits has been held in Kidderminster.

The treatments, given at Kidderminster College, were dished out as part of Male Grooming Week.

The range of free treatments offered included hand treatments, facials and back and shoulder massage.

It was the second year the college's beauty therapy students had held the event to encourage men to treat their bodies a little more seriously.

Last year, many male members of staff at the college, including the principal, led by example and the beauty students were inundated with requests following its promotion.

Kidderminster College spokeswoman, Denise Brownridge, said: "The week was a huge success.

"The idea behind it was to try and remove the stigma for men about going into a beauty salon and getting a massage or facial treatment. It is anticipated that once men have sampled some of the treatments it may encourage them to do it on a regular basis."

There are 170 students on hair and beauty courses at Kidderminster College.

They have their own salon open to the public where they offer hair and beauty treatments, together with sports therapy.
