RESIDENTS of Kidderminster and Bewdley are being given opportunities to discuss issues they want to see tackled by police in the towns.

As part of the Government's Local Policing initiative, Partners and Communities Together - PACT - meetings are taking place at Broadwaters Community Centre tonight and at Wribbenhall Community Centre on Tuesday.

The scheme involves local teams of police officers, dedicated to particular areas, addressing issues locally, with organisations including Wyre Forest District Council, Wyre Forest Community Housing and members of the community.

Looking ahead to the Broadwaters meeting which starts at 7.30pm, Kidderminster East beat manager, PC Bob Fearnall, said: "Everyone is welcome to come and we hope people will take the opportunity to raise issues about which they have concerns."

Issues raised at a previous Bewdley PACT meeting included illegal parking, speeding vehicles and anti-social behaviour.

Next Tuesday's Bewdley meeting gets under way at 7pm. For further information on that meeting, ring Bewdley police on 08457 444888.
