POLICE have cracked down on petty crime and anti-social behaviour on Kidderminster's Spennells estate - arresting four people and seizing three mini moto motorbikes.

The four males - three youths and a man - were arrested on suspicion of assault and theft.

The three bikes will be auctioned and the proceeds used to benefit victims of crime.

The crackdown followed complaints from residents to Councillor Helen Dyke, who lives on the estate, about noise and nuisance caused by these machines being ridden on roads and pavements around homes.

Sgt Kevin Lane said: "There is a gang of youths who have been involved in opportunist thefts, anti-social behaviour and vandalism on Spennells estate.

"This gang has been broken up and police want to reassure residents that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated on Spennells estate or elsewhere in the North Worcestershire Division."

Mrs Dyke urged residents to "keep up the pressure" by reporting any information they have that could help the police, especially if they were still experiencing problems themselves.

Information would be treated in the strictest confidence and residents can contact Mrs Dyke on 01562 741955 or PC Andy McGill on 08457 444888 if they have any details to pass on to police.
