IT has been another massively frustrating week for me after injuring my back again.

But, I think the quicker you come to terms with things like that, the better it is for your mental health. At least I can take some solace from the fact that we won the game against Bristol on Friday night.

I can't imagine how I would have felt if I had done this to my back and we had lost the game.

When I started the match, I thought it was going quite well. I felt good and I felt I was getting around the park well. The most frustrating aspect is that I put all the work in and then have this sort of thing happen. At least I know the best way to get over it and the best way to rehab it.

I had a cut to the head in the game and that gave me a bit of time to see if I was going to be able to play with the injury. But it was just too sore. It was obviously a huge disappointment.

I went for a scan and it showed that I was going to be out for a while. It's too early to set targets but I imagine it will be a similar sort of time-scale to the last one.

It is massively hard to take but, in a funny way, you get used to it. It's not the first injury I have had and it won't be the last.

The last couple of days have been pretty uncomfortable but I'll soon be up and about and get in a bit of training.

You get frustrated because you want to be of some use. At least if you weren't injured, it would make things a bit easier.

The back row is a massively physical area and you are going to get injuries. Both Tom Harding and Johnny Tuamoheloa are doing pretty well so it won't affect the team that much. Tony Windo is also leading the team really well and all the lads are working hard.

You have to look at things from a club point of view. Things have been good these last three weeks and the guys will be looking forward to Sale after a good rest. My old club are deservedly at the top of the table and it promises to be a great match at Sixways.

But we shouldn't underestimate how good a result it was on Friday night. Bristol is a hard place to play. They have got a partisan crowd and they are massively committed and spirited. It is a difficult place to go and win.

The guys showed great resolve and composure to keep the game together and to pull it out of the bag, scoring six points when we were down to 14 men.

You didn't really notice that we were down to 14 men, which we are pretty pleased about.
