A BROADWAY hotel is set to unveil a major £600,000 refurbishment project later this month.

The makeover of the Danish Court rooms in the grounds of the Dormy House Hotel will be unveiled on Monday, February 20.

And the first person to spend a night in the new accommodation will be a member of the hotel staff.

The hotel is running a competition among employees for the privilege.

The eight new ensuite bedrooms and two suites contain state-of-the-art extras including flat screen televisions, broadband and scene-setting lighting. Surrounding the rooms will be landscaped gardens with tables and chairs, and superb views over the golf course.

Marketing co-ordinator Orazio Pollaci said: "The Dormy House team are all very much excited about this project."

The main part of the hotel is a converted 17th Century farmhouse which was acquired by Swedish multi-millionaire Philip Sorenson, boss of Group 4 Securicor in 1977.

Since then, said Mr Pollaci, there had been an ongoing programme of development and refurbishment at the 45-room hotel.
