EVESHAM were denied a point in their Coaching Solutions West Midlands Premier Division game at Walsall by a controversial decision.

In the last minute, the referee awarded Walsall a penalty corner. They converted it and claimed the points.

Evesham skipper Steve Miller was furious and said: "We didn't look like conceding all game.

"To be denied a point by the officials was disheartening."

During the game, neither side looked particularly threatening in front of goal and it was a match of very few chances.

The Walsall 'keeper made two easy saves from Matt Baumber and Ricky Dore, while Neil Sollis and Ben Brown were outstanding in defence.

In the second-half, Evesham dominated possession but once again looked unlikely to score in open play.

The game seemed destined to end in a scoreless draw, but a last-minute attack saw a blatant obstruction at the top of the area by a Walsall attacker.

Despite making a legitimate attempt to make a tackle, Miller was penalised and the resulting corner was converted with a well place flick into the net.
