CHADDESLEY Corbett boss Martin Westcott admitted he was "gutted" after his 10-men were dumped out of the Worcestershire Junior Cup at the semi-final stage by Fairfield Villa's late winner.
A solitary strike from Steve McGlen with eight minutes to go was enough to see the Midland Combination Division One table-toppers through to the final.
Corbett missed three decent chances and had substitute Jon Baker sent off for allegedly kicking out at a defender less than three minutes after coming on.
They were made to pay on 82 minutes when they stopped to appeal for an push on defender Matt Baynton and McGlen smashed the ball into an empty net.
"We were gutted to lose," said Westcott.
"Perhaps Fairfield did not perform at their best, but my players showed they can more than compete at a higher standard."
Chaddesley return to West Midlands League division two action with a home match against Mahal at 2.15pm on Saturday.
