THE RAF Air Cadets were founded 61 years ago this coming Sunday and to celebrate the anniversary current cadets, from the 187 Worcester City Squadron, are meeting up with former members.
One former member, current Worcester Mayor Aubrey Tarbuck paid a visit to the headquarters, Droitwich Road, Perdiswell, on Monday to hand over some memorabilia, including logbooks and instruction manuals from his days as a cadet in the 1940s.
On Sunday the squadron are displaying lots of memorabilia including old photographs donated by veterans.
Anyone interested in the history of the Air Cadets and what members have got up to over the past 60 years can join the celebration at the headquarters from 2.30pm onwards.
