SNOOKER'S top stars are set to chalk up more money for Operation Covert.

Four of the world's leading players come to Kidderm-inster for a major tournament next month and will be signing two cues to be raffled for the appeal.

They include former world champions, Ronnie O'Sullivan and Steve Davis, who will give the fund-raising effort another big break as part of the Betfred.com Premier League Snooker evening.

The event, in association with the Shuttle/Times and News, is returning to the Glades Arena on Thursday, November 17, following its success earlier this year.

The snooker spectacular in February helped to boost the Operation Covert coffers by more than £530 when a similar raffle for autographed cues was held.

And organisers are hoping the hundreds of snooker enthusiasts flocking to Kidderminster next month will try their luck at winning a unique piece of Wyre Forest sporting memorabilia.

Each cue comes in a special case and is signed by the four players in action in Kidderminster.

O'Sullivan will be making a return visit and will be joined by the ever-popular Davis, Ding Jun-hui and Stephen Maguire.

Davis has won the world title six times, while Maguire is ranked number three in the world and in 200-05 won the UK Championship, the sport's second most prestigious ranking title.

Ding, the China number one, is described as Asia's hottest talent.

He won the China Open this year in sensational style, beating Stephen Hendry in the final which had a television audience of 100 million.

Raffle tickets for the snooker cues cost £1 and, once again, members of Kidderminster and District Lions Club will be doing their bit for our appeal by helping to sell them on the night.

The Premier League Snooker evening, which is also being broadcast live on Sky Sports 1, was a sell-out in February and organisers are expecting the same level of interest this time around.

Tickets for the evening are on sale at the Glades Arena.
