GARETH Sheldon has lit the fuse ahead of Saturday's clash with Hereford United by insisting he was right to join Harriers rather than Graham Turner's men.

The winger-cum-forward had a chance to link up with the Bulls in the summer after falling out of favour at former club Exeter City.

But despite Harriers and Hereford's disappointing starts to the season, Sheldon has no regrets about rejecting Edgar Street and opting for Aggborough.

"Hereford was the only other club I could have joined in the summer," revealed the 25-year-old who has been converted from an attacking midfielder to an out-and-out striker by boss Stuart Watkiss.

"I changed my mind about going there because the squad was too big.

"I'd rather take my chances here and I'm confident I've made the right choice."

Sheldon, who has scored three goals this season, believes it is only a matter of time before Kidderminster click into gear and start climbing the table.

"It's a long season, as I keep telling everyone," he said.

"Fair enough we've lost five or six games but teams are going to do that throughout the league.

"Everybody in this division can beat everybody else, but once we hit that good purple patch I don't think there's many teams that will be able to beat us."
