BROMSGROVE Rovers climbed out of the Dr Martens League Western Division relegation zone after a crucial 1-0 home win over bottom club Cinderford Town on Saturday.

Phil Rowe's goal in first-half injury time securing Bromsgrove their first home points for three months and ended a run of 11 league games without a win for Eric McManus' side.

Rovers created, and missed, plenty of first half chances, with Richard Burgess, Dean Wright and Alfie Carter were all responsible of wasting glorious opportunities to give the home team the lead.

The visitors' only effort of the half came from Daryl Addis whose fierce shot flew over the crossbar.

The deciding goal came two minutes into first-half injury time, when industrious work by Wright creating a chance for Rowe who slid the ball past visiting 'keeper Paul Weeks.

Bromsgrove continued to waste chances in the second half, Mark Benbow and Carter being the worst offenders as the home tam tried to make the game safe.

Cinderford had chances to secure a share of the points, but Rovers 'keeper Nore Gabbidon was equal to the task, pulling off three late saves.

Rovers are now a point clear of the drop zone after fellow strugglers Paget Rangers slipped to a 4-1 defeat at Blakenall.
