SEAN Parrish inspired Kidderminster Harriers to victory in his native Wales and then called for an improvement back at Aggborough.

The midfielder is starting to show why boss Ian Britton described him as a "winner" after clinching his signature in the summer.

Parrish's excellent strike in the 2-0 success at Wrexham put Harriers on the road to their first Division Three win since late October on Saturday.

The Wrexham-born player was part of an excellent midfield display and he urged his team-mates to repeat the feat at home to Leyton Orient on Boxing Day (3pm).

Parrish, three times a promotion winner from the division with other clubs, declared: "This result will set everyone up for the Christmas period.

"Our home form has been letting us down so it's important we take this into the Leyton Orient game.

"It would be a shame and a waste of time if we now had a draw or a defeat at home. We have to get three points."

Parrish's goal meant Harriers had scored the opening goal for the first time in nine matches.

On-loan John Melligan is now top scorer with eight after adding a superb late second from outside the box.

Harriers went on to keep their first clean sheet since the 4-0 win at Swansea.

Boss Ian Britton insisted: "We don't want to go back to Aggborough where we haven't done so well in terms of points and blow it.

"I want us to follow up the Wrexham win with a result on Boxing Day.

"Wrexham are a good side and it just shows what we are capable of. We haven't got to fear anybody in this league.

"We started well which makes a change and we carried it through the match. The most important thing was to get that win."

Harriers will still be without defenders Adie Smith (ankle) and Scott Stamps (groin) for the visit of Paul Brush's Orient.

The London side have climbed the table recently with Saturday's 1-0 victory at Swansea their third win in a row since being dumped out of the FA Cup by non-league Margate.

Tenth-placed Harriers go on to visit high-flying Bury on Sunday (3pm) and then travel to Exeter on New Year's Day (3pm).

They now have no game on Saturday, January 4, as scheduled opponents Bournemouth are involved in the FA Cup.

Harriers' front-man Drewe Broughton begins a four-match ban for his York sending off in the game at Bury.

Loan men Andy Bishop and Melligan, from Division One sides Walsall and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively, have been given the go-ahead to spend the rest of the season at Aggborough.

And Harriers' record signing Andy Ducros is back at Nuneaton on loan, scoring for them on Saturday with a 30-yard drive.
