KIDDERMINSTER Harriers' Stuart Brock is becoming one of the most difficult goalkeepers to beat in the Nationwide League Division Three.

The 26-year-old has let in just three goals in Harriers' last eight outings and helped play a major role in his side's steady climb up the table.

Indeed, Kidderminster's miserly defensive displays enabled them to go into this afternoon's home clash with Macclesfield Town on the back of an unbeaten run of nine league games.

The former Aston Villa and Northampton Town campaigner said: "I like the way the gaffer has made us into a hard team to beat.

"We've been criticised for being boring but we are better off now than we were at the same point last year and that's down to all of us, management and players."

Appearances

Brock, who has made more than 150 first team appearances for Harriers, believes he is benefiting from attending a residential goalkeeping course during pre-season along with his deputy John Danby.

The Sandwell-born six-footer said: "We focussed on the specific needs of goalkeepers and spent time working on agility, decision-making, alertness, speed of response and the like.

"At the start of this season I felt my judgement and decision-making was poor. I found it hard to make my mind up about coming or stopping, particularly when the ball was played over the top and the attacker was running in on goal."

Brock made his debut for Harriers in November 1997.
