Harriers steward Ron Everitt and Bewdley resident David Hood add their contributions to one of the big debates around the town.

AS a keen supporter of the Harriers I would like to voice my disgust at the support, or the lack of it, at recent games.

Our chairman, Lionel Newton, has put his money where his mouth is and invested hundreds of thousands of pounds into the club to bring league football to Kidderminster.

He has repeatedly asked the local community to show their support. But, sadly, up until now this is not forthcoming.

I cannot understand this as these so-called supporters are the same people who, a few years ago, were crying out for improved results and slagging off the then manager Graham Allner.

I would ask these people if they really do want Football League status and appreciate just what the current management has achieved.

If the answer is "yes" then I urge them to once again attend Aggborough on match days, get behind the team and show in return a little support to the chairman. Let's help them achieve their next objective - the Second Division.

If these co-called supporters continue to stay away then I am sorry to have to say that Kidderminster really does not deserve a successful Football League club and it will be only a matter of time before we are back where we started.

So come on all you football fans. It's about time you showed a little more support.

After all, you still spend good money watching the likes of Albion, Wolves and Blues. Don't you think that in return for his efforts Lionel deserves a little help?

Let us show him and his board of directors that we really do want to see Harriers succeed, by turning out in increased numbers for the remainder of the season.

After all, we are currently mid-table in Division Three - a far cry from those distant days of the Alliance and even the Conference.

So come on, let's get behind our team and with more support help them on their way.

Regarding recent attendances at Harriers' games, I am afraid that they are discovering what those of us who have supported "yo-yo" clubs have known for some time.

Supporters will always prefer to watch a team winning consistently in a lower league than not winning so often in a higher league.
