KIDDERMINSTER Harriers looked to be heading for their fourth successive goalless draw until Shrewsbury Town clinched a 1-0 victory with a dramatic 90th minute goal in last night's Nationwide League Division Three clash at the Gay Meadow.

For Harriers it was a sickening blow in a match in which they deserved at least a point.

Their missed chances, however, proved costly when Matthew Redmile struck for Shrewsbury with a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

It was the first goal Harriers had conceded in six hours and nine minutes although it is six hours and 17 minutes since they found the net themselves.

Afterwards boss Jan Molby, whose side have not won in their last seven outings, said: "We've had a good discussion about various things as obviously it's not something that's happened overnight.

"It's now nearly four months that we have been having a bad run.

"But I thought we were the better team. It should have been game, set and match to us at half-time.

"We had some excellent chances but our decision making was shocking in every situation whether it was to cross the ball, to shoot or whatever.

"The lads are obviously getting a little bit edgy because it's been a while since we have won.

"We are now going to Exeter on Saturday and they certainly aren't going to give us anything. We didn't deserve to lose tonight, though, but we have."

During the first half Thomas Skovbjerg was denied the chance of marking his full Football League debut with a goal when his fierce volley was superbly saved by 'keeper Paul Edwards.

He also thwarted Drewe Broughton while at the other end ex-Shrewsbury 'keeper Tim Clarke pulled off an excellent save to foil Luke Rodgers.

Steve Jagielka also missed a good chance for Shrewsbury who, during the second half, survived a couple of efforts from Broughton and John Durnin before Redmile pounced.

Missing from Harriers' squad was Tony Bird who had been involved in a car accident earlier in the day. He was not injured in the incident.
