THEY are a combination of brains and beauty and they are gunning for stardom.

Two glamorous Worcestershire 18-year-olds have entered a competition to be on the start grid at each round of this year's Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

Fame, fortune and perhaps the catwalk await the winners who will also get a professional modelling contract, which is the biggest appeal for Hallow's Loren Cahill.

"I'm not your typical model," she said. "Most are 6ft and blonde whereas I'm a 5ft 1ins brunette, but I've got curves in all the right places, and I think looking a little bit different from my competitors could be to my advantage."

Loren, who is currently working at npower in Worcester, could not wait for her 18th birthday to start modelling, but she is not concerned about a future in the industry.

"It can be bitchy, but I can be number one bitch if I want," said the former Worcester College of Technology student. "And anyone who looks at my CV will see than I've got brains as well as beauty."

Loren, of Heath Close, will be going head-to-head with Malvern girl Melissa Hey.

Melissa, also 18, said she was counting on the support of regulars at the pub where she used to work.

"The landlord of New Inn in Malvern used to be a photographer and took some pictures of me for competitions," she said. "He saw the Bennetts' Babes competitions and suggested I enter.

"Modelling is something I have wanted to do for a long time. Hopefully this will bring in more work."

Melissa, of Clare Road, is currently studying beauty therapy at Malvern Hills College. To register your vote for either of the Worcestershire girls, log on to www.bennetts.co. uk/babewatch
