REDDITCH businesses keen to support the Fair Trade campaign are invited to a seminar next month.

A tasting session will showcase the wide range of produce on offer, including coffee, tea and chocolate, will take place at the town hall on Monday, March 6.

The event is being organised by Redditch Trade Justice Network, a group working towards Fair Trade Town status for Redditch by July.

The title is awarded to towns that have shown a proven commitment to selling and using Fair Trade goods.

Fair Trade ensures producers in the Third World get a just price for their goods.

Group representative Chris Stroud said: "This will be an opportunity for local business people who are interested in using or selling Fair Trade goods to come along a have a taste of Fair Trade tea, coffee and snacks and talk to suppliers of Fair Trade goods.

"Even businesses which commit to using Fair Trade tea and coffee in the workplace count towards our target."

The session will run from noon until 2pm and all local businesses which think they might be interested in switching to Fair Trade and supporting the Redditch Fair Trade Town campaign are welcome to attend.
