A YOUNG boy who picked up a needle maliciously pushed through his parents' letterbox does NOT have HIV - but the hate campaign against the family continues.

The Worcester News revealed on Saturday how two-year-old Connor Reeve had been pricked by the syringe and had to undergo four hours of tests.

Those tests have now come back negative, much to the delight of his parents Wayne and Pearl.

But Mrs Reeve, who previously told how they have been harassed by drug users' and pushers since they moved into their Malvern flat two years ago because of their traveller background, said they had received another threatening letter this week.

The Elgar Avenue resident said: "I am delighted that Connor is OK. I can't tell you how happy I am.

"It was a real worry and it is such a relief that he has been given the all-clear. He has to go back for tests in three months, but the doctors seem sure they too will be all right.

"That doesn't mean our situation here has changed, though. On Monday we had another letter telling the 'Gypsy b**tards to get out of the street'.

"We have been trying now to get Elgar Housing to move us, but nothing seems to be done. The police are now involved, the situation has become that bad.

"It is affecting my health now and it is no way to bring up three children."

A spokesman for Elgar Housing Association said: "We will contact the family to discuss the problems they are experiencing.

"We will also be talking to the police and environmental health.

"The family is on our waiting list but at the moment we have insufficient three-bedroom properties to meet the high demand."

A police spokesman said the force was investigating last week's needle incident but had not had any reports of any other problems.
