AN unemployed Woodrow father who was worried about finding the money for his children's Christmas presents was found hanging in his bedroom, an inquest heard.

County coroner Victor Round said Christopher Bingham had voiced money worries after failing to find work as a builder.

The 22 year old lived with expectant girlfriend Lisa and their children, as well as best friend Scott Court, in Kempsey Close.

The court heard how on November 2, Mr Bingham had spent the evening at home with Lisa and their family.

Mr Round said: "Lisa had received some bad news about a family member and although they were both upset, they still managed to have a reasonable evening together."

The following morning, Mr Bingham had taken the children to nursery at Woodrow Centre, returning home before Lisa had left to go to college where she was training to be a hairdresser.

Mr Round said when Lisa said she would see him later, he had replied: "Yes, if I haven't hanged myself."

However, he had also spoken of wanting to complete a computer game.

Later that morning, Mr Court returned to the home after spending the night at a friend's house.

He called out to Lisa and Chris but when he didn't get a reply, went upstairs where he found Mr Bingham hanging from a four poster bed.

Dr George Kondratowicz confirmed Mr Bingham died of ligature suspension.

In a statement, Jonathon Bingham said his brother was: "A deep person and wouldn't want to burden anyone with his problems. He was worried about the future, about money and Christmas but never voiced any suicidal thoughts."

Mr Round recorded the verdict that he took his own life.
