THE challenge of a lifetime awaits Heather Griffiths when she runs this year's London Marathon in aid of children suffering with Leukaemia.Best foot forward: Heather Griffiths who is running this year's London Marathon.
The 19-year-old Spa student, who has never taken part in a marathon before, is aiming to raise £3,000 when she joins the Mr Men and Little Miss Team for the April 23 event.
Birmingham University student Heather chose Children with Leukaemia after a fellow pupil at her school died of the illness.
Also running alongside Heather for the charity will be Sir Steve Redgrave and fundraiser Lloyd Scott, who hit the headlines in 2002 after completing the marathon in a deep-sea diving suit.
Heather said: "I do run for the university, but only normally run one or two miles. I am looking forward to it. It will be a good challenge and is for a good cause."
