The president welcomed the members and visitors to the February meeting. It was agreed that the hall is to be booked for two afternoons so that members could meet and do craft work, hopefully to produce a sensory book for handicapped children.
A special tea of cakes and sandwiches was then enjoyed, courtesy of Margaret Wainwright's celebration for her golden wedding anniversary.
Anne Taft then spoke enthusiastically about her year as mayor of Droitwich. A native of the town, she recognised several members who knew her mother. In her mayoral year Anne tried to promote the town and its businesses, this was most enjoyable but hard work, especially when she was engaged in fundraising for her two charities, the Girl Guides and Water Aid.
She also covered visits to old people's homes and the arrival of our twin town delegates from Bad Ems.
Mrs Lever thanked her for an enjoyable and interesting talk.
