MY six-year-old son has a chronic ilness. He was issued a disabled parking badge to help our family integrate his needs with ours. We are very grateful.
We drive a new car, paid for from our own savings. It isn't a 'mobility special', others are not missing out because of us.
So can someone please tell me why people look at me or my wife with utter disgust when they see us leave our vehicle in a disabled parking space?
The car is two months old, it has been to the paint shop already because someone ran a key along the entire length of the driver's side whilst parked as above.
We have enough worries in our lives looking after our children, paying bills, etc, without judging others.
It pains me to say, the worst offenders are the older generation. Disability badges are not given out as a retirement gift. Some people are not fortunate enough to reach that milestone.
