I READ with amazement your article regarding the planning application by Gallagher Estates for a further 58 homes on the Oakalls.
I recently received a planning application pack from Bromsgrove Council. It included a pink form explaining that if your application would result in the creation of a new dwelling it was likely to be refused as too many are being built in the district. This being the case why is the Gallagher application even being considered?
I would also suggest that adding a single vehicle to the traffic chaos on the Stratford Road island would be a very bad idea. It is unable to cope with the existing traffic levels.
Have the council had proof that the site has been marketed? I have been looking for a shop premises and have never had this suggested, not even by the council's economic development manager. Where and how has the site been marketed?
Have any of the residents of this 'Rural Village' considered taking action against Gallaghers for misrepresentation? After all, they purchased houses in a 'Rural Village' with amenities and have ended up on a faceless housing estate with none
The council should find a way to dismiss this application as quickly as possible.
