DROITWICH under-17s made sure they reached the final of the Midland Shield by beating Stafford 52-5 on Saturday.

Spa never looked back from a lightening start, where they scored three early tries, to set up a final against either Bedford or Malvern, which is set to be held on Sunday, March 25.

Bromsgrove under-11s had to contend with icy winds and snow in their 35-0 win over Halesowen on Sunday.

Bromsgrove took the game to their opponents and Chris Cornelissen almost made a breakthrough with a clever run only to be tackled just before the line.

Dan Elliott opened the scoring and Ben Lucas added a second.

Chris Howard almost came close but was denied by strong Halesowen tackling. However, Cornelissen emerged from a scrum to add another Bromsgrove try.

Jack Priddy almost added a fourth but he was denied by desperate tackling by the visitors as Bromsgrove went in 15-0 up at half time.

Cornelissen added his second early after the break, before Jack Priddy, Dan Holmes and Howard touched down to finish Halesowen off.

Bromsgrove under-7s were given a tough time as they took on Old Halesonians at Finstall Park.

The young Boars lost the first two games but managed to hold their opponents in the final match.

Bromsgrove lost game on 35-20, despite tries for James Smalley (3) and Matthew Hunt.

In game two Bromsgrove lost 20-15, with Sam Lee, William Moss and Nathaniel Nott touching down.

Bromsgrove drew 20-20 with Old Halesonians, with Reuben Barton (2) and James Smalley (2) scoring.

Droitwich under-8s were too strong for Stratford, as they won all three matches against their Warwickshire opponents.

In game one Spa won 15-10 with Ieuan Howells, Matthew Sowden and Jamie Wall all scoring tries.

Game two saw Howeels bag a hat trick as Droitwich ran out 20-0 victors, while Snowden bagged the other try.

Droitwich won game three 25-10, with Angus Thomas, Arron Barber, Peter Bedborough and Howells (2) touching down.

Chaddesley Corbett under-10s had double success over the weeknd.

They defeated Barker Butts 25-0 in the first match. Alex Lloyd, Jack Vaughan, Louis Ellesmore, Ross Westwood and Sam Smith all touched down.

In the second match Corbett edged out Broadstreet 15-10, with Vaughan and Westwood (2) going over for tries.
