LEADERS St Stephen's 'A' have virtually wrapped up the Nationwide Doors and Windows Worcester Billiards League title.

Ben Watts, John Smith and Mick Painter won the first three frames against St John's 'A' but John Cambridge was the home side's only victor.

Second and third-placed GWR 'B' and St John's 'B' fought out a 2-2 draw when all four points were required.

St Stephen's 'A' are now nine points clear and look certain to take league honours for the second year running.

Callow End scored a maximum against visiting GWR 'A' and St Stephen's 'B' defeated Suzy Q 3-1.

Meanwhile, the prestigious Thurstons Cup semi-final draw has paired St Stephen's 'E' and Heenans 'A'. Hallow ('A' or 'B') take on Pershore 'C' in the other last-four clash of the Worcester Snooker League competition.

All matches are due to take place on the week starting April 3.

In the Plate quarter-finals, Suzy Q 'B' made the semis following a fine victory over Division One side St John's 'L'.

They have been drawn at home in the semi with Pershore 'B', while St Stephen's 'G' face St Stephen's 'D'.
