HEREFORD'S St Franics Xavier RC Primary held off a stong challenge from Ashperton Primary to win the 2006 Herefordshire and Worcestershire Schools Orienteering Championships at Eastnor Deer Park, near Ledbury.

Although they did not score any individual class wins, St Francis Xavier managed to pip the other schools as a thanks to stronger overall results on the course.

The event was well attended and closely contested by the primary schools. The secondary classes were not well-supported, but were won by a good mix of schools.
