MORE than 4,000 pensioners in Wyre Forest are missing out on extra money from Pension Credit.
The average amount awarded is £40 per week, with the possibility of payments being backdated for 12 months.
Many people do not realise they are eligible, or how to find out about their potential entitlement. More than 5,000 pensioners in Wyre Forest have already received the extra money.
The Pension Service is writing to people they believe might be missing out but inquiries can be made on 0800 99 1234, with staff answering any questions about entitlement.
Pensioners, with the help of the Pension Service, can also apply for housing and council tax benefits.
