ST Bede's u13 girls football side have been playing in the Coca Cola Cup competition and managed to get through to the last eight in the region.
Unfortunately they lost to Myton School in the quarter-finals.
The St Bede's team, however, were the last side remaining in the girls competition from Worcestershire so they did enough to go through to the national stages of the competition.
A spokesman for the Holloway Lane school said: "This is a great achievement for girls football at St Bede's as it is the furthest any girls team has got in the competition.
"We are really pleased with the attitude and level of effort shown by all the girls and look forward to competing at this higher level."
n It has also been a successful few weeks for another team of Redditch youngsters.
Girls from Ipsley Middle School's Year 6 took part in a six-a-side tournament and finished second in their group after winning two out of their three matches.
They qualified for the semi-final and beat the tournament favourites 2-1, an excellent result.
The final saw them take on St Bede's and they finished up 2-0 winners.
Charlotte O'Brien scored 15 goals throughout the competition and Emma Footitt had an outstanding day in goal, conceding just two goals.
The girls went on to represent Redditch in the county championships where they finished third.
