SATURDAY'S 1-1 draw with Feckenham leaves Pershore Town's two-legged Challenge Cup semi-final perfectly balanced ahead of next month's second leg at Redditch United's ground.

A missed second half penalty by top scorer Andy Hodgetts could yet prove crucial in the final count but manager Andy Robbins was delighted with his side's display.

"It was a good yardstick just to see how far we have come since I took over," Robins admitted.

"We lost to them 4-1 I think earlier in the season so last Saturday's result was especially pleasing."

Kays Sibanda gave Pershore a second half advantage and, had Hodgetts' spot-kick not struck a post ten minutes later, then the hosts could have had one foot in the final.

However, Feckenham levelled seven minutes from time - a goal that the Town manager admitted the visitors deserved.

Pershore are back in Midland Combination Premier Division action on Saturday when they entertain Nuneaton Griff (2.45pm).
