MEMBERS of Bewdley Town Council have agreed to give up two car parking spaces reserved for councillors and council staff.
The spaces, in the Load Street car park, are available for councillors to use when on official business and by the town clerk, mayor's secretary and caretaker.
It was proposed, during a town council meeting, they were given up to create additional parking for disabled visitors, as the spaces were close to the shops and other services.
Councillor Paul Gittins proposed that one or two disabled spaces be moved nearer to Bewdley Medical Centre.
He added members should request that Wyre Forest District Council provide the town council with - or allow it to buy - two folding signs which said "reserved parking" so spaces were available for VIPs, such as visiting MPs.
