DARING drivers can look forward to the arrival of the Grand Prix in Alvechurch on Saturday.
Wannabe Michael Schumachers and Jenson Buttons can pit their wits against each other at a specially-built model track at the Ark, next to the village's St Laurence Church in Bear Hill.
A pair of racing events will be held to raise cash for church funds.
From noon, visitors can compete with friends or family, racing model electric cars around the circuit.
Admission to the spectators' enclosure is £1, with a supplementary charge of £1 per person for every race entered. Refreshments will be available and the racing circuit will stay open until 5pm.
And in the evening, there is a black-tie Glitz 'n' Glamour event in The Ark.
For £10 a ticket, participants can enjoy a buffet supper and licensed bar whilst racing or watching other guests on the track.
Admission is by ticket only, available from The Flower Mill, The Square, Alvechurch. For more details, call the Rev David Martin on 0121 445 1087.
