RATHER than visiting their long suffering mothers, 17 members of Childswickham Gun Club turned out to enjoy their monthly clay shoot!

The subtle use of clay size, speed and angle coupled with the influence of the wind, resulted in some very challenging targets.

On some occasions the clays seemed to be as big as dustbin lids but still eminently missable as evidenced by the relatively modest scoring.

D Coe and S Perry (both 20 ex 40) shared the dubious honour of Low Gun, with a further ten members scoring in the 20s, among them young Danny Andrews (27 ex 40).

Five members managed to break into the 30s with veterans Chris Vale and Ray Marsden returning scores of 33 ex 40.

The High Gun, with an excellent score of 36 ex 40, was Dave Andrews, while a popular winner of the pool draw was Eric Burford.
