THE president welcomed an excellent turnout of members and visitors on a very cold evening. Our membership is now 60, not a record for us, but gratifying nonetheless.

Jenny was presented with our new WI silver President's badge by May Evans. It was bought to commemorate our 40th birthday.

A group outing has been arranged to visit Orleton House Gardens on May 23. We gave a donation towards WI catering at the Three Counties Show, and promised support for the St Andrew's flower festival in aid of the church and Acorns Hospice.

Our recent jumble sale raised £75.41 and, together with the money from a recent raffle, we plan to have another activities morning.

We were then treated to a demonstration by John Letts, a successful local sculptor. We watched as he created a clay model character. Vicky Amor thanked him for such an original evening's entertainment.

On April 20 at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church Hall, Rosemary Prosser will talk on from tights to trousers.
