KIDDERMINSTER Carolians comfortably proceeded to the last four of the North Midlands Shield with an excellent performance and 13-5 victory over Droitwich.

After a scoreless first-half, KCs made the most of the conditions after the break with a Russ Slater try and a conversion and two penalties from Andy Stooksbury.

Before KCs embark on their first semi-final for several years, they have a vital Midlands Three West North match at Telford on Saturday.

A Chris Jones try converted by Iain Crockett was not enough to prevent KCs seconds losing 13-7 to Old Halesonians.

KCs third secured the Merit League title with 12 tries and nine conversions in their thumping 78-12 win over Ledbury.

Try scorers: John Jo Bryant 4, Simon Higgs 2, Mat Woodward 2, John Shires 2, Martin Wright 1, Charles Lloyd Jones 1. Conversions: Nick Kay 9.
