STAFF and youngsters at Harvington First School were devastated when their school was burgled and equipment including two digital cameras were stolen.
But they were all smiles again this week when a local store presented them with two new replacements.
Andrew Starkey, of PowerHouse in Evesham High Street, said: "As a father of a pupil at the school I know how upset everyone was when the stuff was stolen.
"I spoke to my bosses who agreed that we should replace the digital cameras for them."
Local area sales manager for Powerhouse, Janice Smith, made the presentation.
Head teacher Mrs Marcia Palmer said the school was delighted with the gesture.
"I know Andrew is a parent and his wife is a parent governor but it was still very kind of him to go out of his way like that to support the school." In the same burglary in February thieves stole a valuable hearing aid belong to another pupil. An anonymous benefactor subsequently paid for its replacement.
