MALVERN Girls' College students were very successful at the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival.
Kemi Greene achieved amazing success, winning first place for Scripture (16 years and under) and prose reading (16 years and under).
She also won the Robert Vale Trophy for acting.
Alice Porter won first place and the Parkinson Wright Cup for Shakespeare (14 years and under). Kanyinsola Olayomi, aged 12, won first place and a cup for verse speaking (12 years and under) and also for scripture (14 years and under).
Annabel Darling won the creative writing cup (12 years and under). Helen Lau won first place and a cup for verse speaking (14 years and under) and also for creative writing (14 years and under).
The winners' concert took place and both Alice and Kemi were invited to perform. They were both thrilled when they heard they had been awarded extra prizes. Alice won the Evans Cup for Speech and Drama as overall winner of the Shakespeare classes. Kemi won the Arts Council Trophy for Acting.
This is the first year that this prize has been awarded and was given by the Arts Council to the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival.
The sculpture of Puck was specially commissioned and will be on show at the Guildhall, Worcester, from the end of this month.
