SIR - Ms Sylvia Wells of Redditch should be more tolerant of the Big Issue sellers, the majority of whom are a bit down on their luck. She might even consider purchasing a magazine. She doesn't have to take the magazine and she might even feel that she's helping a seller to make a few quid. Nobody knows what lies ahead in the future. As regards "have a nice day" surely that better than "shove off" as she continues her walk to the Cathedral.
