WORCESTER First World War hero Fred Dancox will be honoured this year at the site of his brave actions. The local branch of the Western Front Association will travel to Ypres, Belgium and unveil a monument on the spot near Langemarck where he single-handedly captured a German bunker in 1917.

The WFA is a very worthy organisation, a grouping of kindred spirits whose uniting bond is to keep faith with those who fought and died between 1914-18. Its members deserve our thanks.
