EVESHAM kicked off their Birmingham League Division Two campaign in style with a comfortable five-wicket victory over Bridgnorth.
Bridgnorth showed some resistance until the introduction of key players Neal Radford and Shahid Saeed. Radford was at his consistant best as he destroyed the visitor's middle order with 5-60 and Saeed chipped in with two wickets.
Opening bowler Adam Brookes returned to clean up the tail, finishing with 3-45 as Bridgnorth were bowled out for 167.
In reply, Evesham lost openers Suckling and Gregory with 30 on the board, but West Australian Scott Marshall anchored the reply with an unbeaten 70.
He was supported by Saeed (27) and Radford (21).
Fifteen-year-old Dave Mullett helped see Evesham to victory with 12 overs to spare.
Evesham Seconds suffered a disappointing seven-wicket defeat against Beacon Seconds.
Andy Shorey hit 46, but they were all out for 170, which Beacon overtook for the loss of three wickets.
