Sir - Councillor Aubrey Tarbuck was quite right to be disappointed over his edited election address, it demonstrates the political sensitivity shown over the Claines ward.

Coun Tarbuck is also right with his well-known views on the need for the continuation of the orbital road around Worcester.

What we seem to have is the Claines Lib-Dem Europhiles, who comprise less than 1.8 per cent (1649 voters) of the Worcester population, laying siege to plans for a viable road network and affecting those who live in the city and the county and have to commute.

I am sure the same objectors are quite happy to use the rest of the orbital road when they commute around the city.

Recent claims that you can go from Claines across town in 10 minutes, as any commuter knows, are just not true. You can spend longer than this waiting at the forest of traffic lights and pelican crossings along Barbourne Road.

We must have a sympathetically planned remainder of our orbital road network completed.

Brian Hunt,

Worcester
