SHOPPERS in Worcester High Street have been encouraged to have fun, keep fit and raise much-needed funds by taking part in a charity bike ride.
Staff from British Heart Foundation were hard to miss when they paid a visit to Worcester. They were reminding shoppers there is still time to sign up for the Hearts First Bike Ride on Sunday, June 4.
The event starts at 9am and goes to Droitwich and on to Bromsgrove before returning to Warndon, Worcester. It is a fun ride, not a race.
Registration costs £10 for adults, £5 for under-16s and £20 for families. Application forms are available by calling 0800 169 3672.
Louise McCathie, BHF event organiser, said: "Coronary heart disease kills almost nine times more people than breast cancer and three times more than lung cancer. It's the UK's biggest killer.
"Nationwide, someone has a heart attack every two minutes and only half survive. That's why your contribution is so important. Have fun and get your own heart pumping by taking part in our Hearts First Bike Ride in Worcester. There is something for everyone."
