WI adviser Christine Hickman Smith was wlcomed to the meeting. She presented the two resolutions. The first was on renewable energy, urging the Government to look at encouraging the use of long-term renewable energy in all future developments. Solar, wind, hydro-electyric and GO thermal were the four discussed.
The second was Sport for All for a Healthy Population. There is national concern that 25 per cent of children are now obese.
The resolution proposed that sport was made available to all sections of society.
Members voted and the majority passed the resolutions. These would be taken to the Cardiff AGM.
The next meeting is the June outing. Anyone not already booked needs to contact Margaret Kemp or Ruth Powell.
