A MUSICAL group has benefited from a generous donation from its founder.
Indigo Musicmaker founder workshop member Emma Hipkin donated £856.70 to the group, which she has been a member of for five years.
Emma, 20, raised the money with an X-Factor-style competition at Rocklands Social Club, which was won by singer Jo Bestwick, who also donated her prize money to Indigo.
Indigo spokesman Cathy Moss said: "We are grateful to Emma for putting so much hard work into the organisation of such a successful event.
"Indigo is reliant on fundraising and donations and it is brilliant not only to have this kind of financial support but also this commitment demonstrated to the organisation by those who have benefited from it."
Emma is already planning her next event at the Rocklands in Headless Cross, for the autumn.
And Indigo Musicmaker is preparing for its next production, Factor 15, at the Palace Theatre. Tickets are available through the Palace Theatre box office.
