A COMPILATION of music from bands across the area has been put together to raise funds for Droitwich's Ferret Welfare.

Spa-based volunteer Ian Kearns has organised the project and put the CD together in the hope of selling copies to raise much needed cash.

The CD - DFW summer 2006 - was put together by Ian after he adopted a house ferret, named Teutel, from the charity only a few months ago.

Ian has gone through months of planning and listening to hundreds of tracks to find the right compilation of varied and eclectic music to appeal to all tastes. He hopes to raise £1,000 for the charity by selling 500 copies of the CD at just £2 each.

"Teutel has proved such a joy that I knew immediately I had to help the charity develop so that other sick, injured and unwanted ferrets can be helped to health and happiness and a lovely new home," said Ian.

"I enjoy music and this project has also given me the opportunity to promote the music of local artists."

The CD is set to be launched at the Three Counties Show in Malvern on June 16-18.
