ATHLETICS: Racewalker Sharon Tonks retained her Midlands 5km title with victory at a rain-drenched Tamworth Stadium on Sunday.
The Bromsgrove & Redditch athlete was short on training before the event but led from the gun on the 12 lap event.
Tonks made a steady start before increasing the pace after three laps which saw her take the title, finishing more than 90 seconds ahead of her nearest challenger.
