TENNIS - STUDLEY climbed back to second in the Premier Division of the Prudden Road Surfacing Tennis League following their 4-0 whitewash of Littleton.
And Inkberrow's thrilling 3-1 defeat of basement side FISSC took them into the top four. Studley played host to a below-strength Littleton.
But the hosts were made to fight for their points, opening pair Chris Hughes and Gary Jackson being taken to three sets before posting a 6-4, 6-7, 7-5 victory over Ian Smith and Richard Herborn.
The Studley pair then had things a little easier when they beat Mark Hubbard and John Fielder 6-2, 6-0.
On the other court Studley's Dave Innes and Chris McGregor beat Hubbard and Fielder 6-2, 6-1, and then saw off Smith and Herborn 6-3, 6-3, to give Studley all four points.
Inkberrow were involved in the best match of the week finally edging out FISSC 3-1 after three out of the four rubbers went the distance.
Jim Richardson and Graham Rankin made a winning 6-3, 6-3 start against Ali Kashani and Mat Baker and then beat Steve Turner and Nigel Yates 6-1, 6-2.
Meanwhile Inkberrow captain Alex Woodbridge and Adam Hill found it harder to beat Turner and Yates 6-4, 7-6 on a tiebreak and then really struggled before succumbing to Kashani and Baker 3-6, 6-4, 4-6.
Elsewhere in the division, leaders Stratford were 4-0 victors over high-flying Shipston while Claverdon had a comfortable 4-0 victory over Henley.
In Division One, the leading trio of Campden, Evesham and Stratford C stretched further away from the remainder of the division, recording 4-0 victories over Bidford, Aston Cantlow and FISSC B respectively.
Table-toppers Moreton and Inkberrow B met in Division Two and it was the latter who took the points - and top spot - following a 3-1 win.
Studley B crashed to a 4-0 defeat against Pershore while basement side HDA Redditch picked up their first draw of the season, sharing the points with Stratford E. Alcester's match with Stratford D was rained off.
Bidford B lost 4-0 against undefeated Whitnash in Division Three while Studley C's match in Division Four was postponed while Alcester B were left without a fixture.
