FORMER Arsenal and England striker Alan Smith was guest of honour when Alvechurch held their annual presentation evening last week.
Smith, who began his career with the Lye Meadow club before moving on to Leicester City, made the end of season awards at a ceremony that also saw a sting of other top players return.
Former Aston Villa and Derby County defender Andy Comyn together with Bournemouth assistant manager Richard O'Kelly were among dozens of footballers past and present who helped celebrate 75 years of the famous club.
And the evening also marked the launch of the book Down Memory Lane with Alvechurch FC, written by club stalwart Roy Yardley.
l Alan Smith and Roy Yardley are pictured with club president Richard Jennings and players Jamie McWilliams (Players' Player of the Year), Anthony Sutton (Supporters' Player of the Year), Keith Rostill (Golden Boot winner) and Lee Chilton (Young Supporters' Player of the Year).
