BARNARDS Green seconds travelled to Droitwich on bank holiday Monday where stand-in skipper Jason Brewer lost the toss and was asked to bat first.
In between showers on a bowler-friendly wicket, the Green struggled to 161 all-out, probably 40 runs short of a decent score. Nobody made a high score but several made 20s and 30s.
In reply, Droitwich lost three early wickets but vastly experienced Andy Vanuren survived a dropped catch on nought and then went on to score 97no.
His innings took the game away from the Green and Droitwich won by seven wickets.
The match was probably won and lost on the toss of the coin.
