BRIAN Boswell once again demonstrated his dominance of hilly events by winning last week's Velo Club Sevale 12-mile hilly time trial, with veteran rider Mike Amery coming a good second.

Steve Price chose to ride a fixed wheel again - the things people will do in pursuit of the Chairman's Fixed Wheel Award.

The full results were: B Boswell 34.49, M Amery 35.29, S O'Toole 37.19, B Mellor 38.29, C Smallman 38.36, J Barnett 39.45, J Sharrock 41.51, D Yapp 42.52, G O'Mahoney 43.30, S Price 44.38.

The next event is a 10-mile time trial on Thursday (June 8), starting at 7.30pm using the Chance Lane course. Competitors must be a member of a cycling club affiliated to the CTT, but temporary membership of the Velo Club Sevale can be taken out on the night.

The club will be running two 'Come and Try It' events open to all-comers this month, a 5.5-mile ride on Tuesday, June 13, based on Hanley Swan, followed by a 10-mile ride on Thursday, June 22, using the Chance Lane circuit.

Signing on will take place from 6.45pm for both events, with the first rider off at 7.30pm.
